Ice cream eating, just before it got too cold for ice cream eating. In all honestly I don't really like vanilla ice cream (Sshhh, don't tell anyone), but aren't these customised cones wonderful? The ice cream company Hocking's is a local tradition, they only sell Vanilla ice cream in the vans but you can buy tubs of tasty flavours such as Cherry and Coffee which go great in a waffle. Their vans are part of the scenery during the summer months, along with the long queues, and greedy kids that accompany them.
These pictures were taken on an impromptu walk along the beach which turned out to be quite fruitful on the photograph front. The drained beach swimming pool, which a local pool enthusiast informed us is being shut down, looks so much better empty, and conjures up visions of 1950's beach holidays and knobbly knee competitions. I haven't put these through Photoshop as sometimes I think it's good to look at things as they actually are, rose tinted spectacles are all very well, but occasionally real life is a little bit better.
